KUALA LUMPUR: Annuar Musa has pulled out from the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) presidential race.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page today, Annuar said, after taking into account several matters, he has decided to give the honour for the Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim to be declared as FAM’s president, unopposed.
Annuar and Tunku Ismail are the only two candidates vying for the post, of which the election process is set to take place this Saturday.
“The commitment and determination shown by TMJ can be an important asset to FAM,” Annuar said.
Annuar extended his gratitude to all the delegates who would be attending the FAM congress this Saturday for the support given to him, and apologised that he did not consult with anyone in making the decision to pull out.
