Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz has proposed April 7 as the new date for the much-anticipated debate with former Premier Mahathir Mohamad.
Nazri who is also the Tourism and Culture Minister said he had asked the organisers to arrange the debate at the Karangkraf Media Group office in Shah Alam.
“I want the debate to be held in the office premises because a permit would not be required. It is not a public gathering either.
“It would be in the Karangkraf compound and they can contact Tun (Mahathir) to inform him of the status,” Bernama reported as he told newsmen at the Parliament lobby Tuesday.
Perak police on Tuesday had denied the permit for the initial debate that was scheduled on Saturday, March 25 at Dewan Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM), Kuala Kangsar and cited security threat as the reason.
