Fans of Beauty and the Beast in Malaysia can breathe a sigh of relief.
Malaysia Outlook has been informed by Tanjong Golden Village (TGV) Cinemas’ head of marketing Celeste Koay that the movie will open on March 30.
Meanwhile, a source familiar with the appeal filed by Disney against a minor ‘gay scene’ cut ordered by the Film Censorship Board (LPF) said the movie will be screened without any cuts.
The Film Appeals Committee is said to meet today to review the live-action film following an appeal filed by Disney.
LPF previously announced that it had approved the movie for screening with a PG13 rating, however informed of a minor ‘gay scene’ cut.
The film was initially scheduled to open in Malaysia on Mar 16, however on Mar 13, Disney Malaysia told certain media outlets that it would be postponing the opening date here for an internal review.
