MIC Central Working Committee member J Dhinagaran fires the Penang state government for not putting up Deepavali decoration in the city.
Dhinagaran said Penang Little India is a famous tourist hotspots to do shopping and food stalls as well as restaurants operated by the Indians.
However to his observation, the Penang state government did not decorate the place with proper Deepavali lightings.
Deepavali means victory over darkness and also brightness.
He praised Kuala Lumpur City Hall to have decorated Little India Brickfields with its Deepavali deco.
“It is sad to see Penang Deputy Chief Minister P Ramasamy who is also a Hindu not bothered about the Deepavali decoration in the state.
“DAP is not interested with the Hindu festival,” said Dhinagaran via a statement.
Not only in Penang, the similar somber situation was reported in another Pakatan led Selangor state that Deepavali deco was not seen around Jalan Tengku Kelana, Klang area.
It shows even Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali does not care about the Hindus celebrating Deepavali, points out Dhinagaran.
Dhinagaran said it’s sad to see the state government can sponsor bigger events like Penang Run in Esplanade but not a Deepavali decoration that will cost little money.
“Why the Indians are treated as second class citizens under DAP administration?
“Ramasamy should bear in mind that we Indians in the state have the equal rights to be treated well.” he added.
