Semporna MP Shafie Apdal will lead a new party called Parti Warisan Sabah or in short term WARISAN.
The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has approved the Sabah based party’s name change from Parti Pembangunan Warisan Sabah which was registered in 2013.
Shafie will lead as the party president and Penampang MP Darrell Leiking will be his deputy.
The three vice presidents for the party will be Sulabayan assemblyman Jaujan Sambakong, Likas assemblyman Junz Wong and Kadazan Dusun Murut Malaysia organisation president Peter Anthony are the three vice presidents.
Shafie said his new party will work with any other party that intends to topple the Barisan Nasional government in Sabah.
He also revealed the candidates list for the next 14th General Election is yet to be finalised.
When asked whether his party will gain popularity, Shafie believes the confidence he has gain lately from the ground support and many in Sabah wanted to see a change
